California's Library Awareness Campaign

The California Campaign for Libraries is under way. The campaign, designed to increase public awareness of libraries, provides for advertisements on television, radio, billboards and other media throughout the state. With funding from LSTA, the campaign is administered by the California State Librarian and the media partners.

As the campaign moves through the state (see the schedule) libraries can benefit from the considerable exposure generated by the program by creating local mini-campaigns. To assist in those local efforts calibraries.org has compiled information from the State Library about the campaign and has created a selection of downloadable graphic elements for print, web, and other media at http://www.calibraries.org/checkitout/ .

If your library is in California, find out how you can leverage this campaign to benefit your library by reviewing the mini-campaign site. And although specifically designed for use by participants in the California campaign, the material is freely available for use by anyone.

Thanks to Kathy Low at the California State Library for her assistance.
